For curious kids and their grown-ups

A little curiosity.
A whole world of bees.

Bee School began with curious kids, including ours. Learn together at home or in the classroom with free printable activities.

Meet the hive.

A closer look at the work of keeping bees.

Every bee has a job.

The queen lays eggs. Worker bees gather food, care for young bees and tend the hive. Drones mate with queens.

A home made of wax.

Honeycomb holds honey, pollen, eggs and young bees. Look at the repeating shapes in a piece of comb.

From flower to honey.

Bees collect nectar and bring it to the hive. They process it and remove water before storing honey in the comb.

Help the flowers.

Bees carry pollen as they visit flowers, helping many plants make seeds and fruit. With a grown-up, notice which flowers bees visit near you and learn about plants that provide forage.

The Bee Promise

Care starts with noticing.

When you finish your activities, print the Junior Beekeeper certificate. Explore bees with a grown-up, and leave working hives to their keeper.
